About the Role
We are looking for a Reconciliation and Settlement Analyst, Card and Chargeback to join our dynamic Group Reconciliation & Settlement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation and settlement of card-related transactions, while also managing chargeback processes to safeguard the business against financial risk. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation & Settlement

Perform daily reconciliation of all card transactions across payment platforms.

Prepare and submit accurate daily and weekly reconciliation and settlement reports.

Reconcile income and transaction fees with partners, ensuring prompt transfer of funds to Onafriq’s accounts.
Risk & Chargeback Management

Process chargebacks efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Mitigate risks by identifying and addressing reconciliation variances.

Safeguard the company against financial exposure arising from reconciliation and settlement discrepancies.
Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, card networks, and other key stakeholders.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve outstanding reconciliation and settlement issues.
Process & Systems Development

Contribute to the development and enforcement of reconciliation and settlement standards across all payment platforms.

Support process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and risk management.
Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Settlement and Reconciliation (Card and Chargeback).
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, or related fields.

Proven experience in reconciliation, settlement operations, or chargeback management within fintech, banking, or payments.

Solid understanding of card transaction processes, chargeback rules, and payment systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Proficiency in MS Excel and other reconciliation/financial tools.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging partners and stakeholders.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume financial environment.
