About the Role
We are seeking a Reinsurance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will support the administration of reinsurance operations, contribute to analysis and reporting, and ensure compliance with treaties, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Reinsurance Operations

Administer reinsurance and retention processes, validate data, and identify discrepancies.

Participate in projects involving reinsurance administration systems, legal treaties, product launches, and related initiatives.

Support the preparation of statutory reports such as reinsurance premiums, commissions, treaty renewals, and related statistics.

Manage inward facultative acceptances and ensure premium collections from counterparties.

Provide information for outward facultative reinsurance placements with creditworthy insurers.

Process facultative premium payments in line with policies and timelines.

Monitor treaty and facultative claims recoveries and resolve reconciliation items on accounts.
Analysis & Reporting

Perform entry-level accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely documentation.

Contribute to the analysis of reinsurance accounts and contractual terms (e.g., exposure rates, limits, loss corridors, and large loss monitoring).

Assist with reporting and data gathering to support reinsurance performance analysis.
Team Participation

Collaborate with colleagues to develop and complete business deliverables.

Contribute to documenting project requirements and translating them into system specifications.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

5–7 years’ work experience in reinsurance, underwriting, or insurance operations.

Strong knowledge of reinsurance principles (treaty and facultative).

Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Professional certification (e.g., CIIN) is an added advantage.
