Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Depot Logistics Officer to join our operations team in Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing depot operations, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of products, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Accounts department to ensure timely reconciliation of waybills and invoices, with weekly reporting.

  • Supervise all loaded trucks and drivers from loading to delivery points.

  • Ensure suitability of transportation methods, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Act as the main point of contact for logistics issues, escalating to the project team where required.

  • Liaise with government officials (DPR, PEF) during PMS loading activities.

  • Coordinate with project cost control, planning, contracts, and quality teams for effective information flow.

  • Oversee safe and efficient receipt, storage, and product dispatch.

  • Reconcile product purchases with truck loadings.

  • Monitor peddler trans-loading and sales activities.

  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers to maintain strong relationships.

  • Conduct contractor activity and competency audits, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

  • Seal trucks bound for stations to ensure security compliance.

  • Ensure accuracy in product quality and quantity verification.

  • Maintain accurate stock accounting and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.

  • Maintain records in compliance with ISO standards.

  • Support operations involving trucks, vessels, and barges loading.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • OND in Business Administration, Statistics, Logistics, or related field.

  • 1–2 years cognate experience in depot operations within a bulk storage company.

  • Proven experience in depot logistics, bulk fuel handling, and distribution.

  • Familiarity with accounting, engineering, and maintenance software.

  • Solid understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT tools.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical, creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Customer-focused with proven ability to meet client expectations.

  • Demonstrates resilience, composure, and a positive “can-do” attitude.

  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
