Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will provide legal support across the business by drafting and reviewing contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining proper documentation. This role will also support corporate governance, liaise with regulators and external stakeholders, and assist in dispute management and compliance framework development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

  • Provide legal advisory services to business units on transactions and operations.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (CAC, SEC, FIRS, SON, IP filings, etc.).

  • Maintain proper documentation and database of contracts, licenses, permits, and regulatory filings.

  • Support corporate governance duties, including preparing board/shareholder resolutions and meeting minutes.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, external solicitors, and other stakeholders.

  • Handle pre-litigation matters, manage disputes, and provide support in litigation and arbitration.

  • Assist in developing internal compliance frameworks, policies, and training.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Legal or Management.


Requirements

  • LL.B. degree in Law.

  • B.L. (Called to the Nigerian Bar).

  • 2–5 years post-call experience in a corporate legal department or reputable law firm.

  • Proven experience in contract management, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.

  • Experience with company secretarial duties is desirable.

  • Excellent knowledge of Nigerian corporate and commercial law.

  • Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal research tools.

  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

  • Proactive, result-oriented, and ethical in conduct.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving ability.
