About Fairmoney Microfinance Bank

Fairmoney Microfinance Bank is building the leading mobile bank for emerging markets. We started with a digital microcredit application on Android and are expanding into current accounts, savings, debit cards, and additional financial services across Western Africa and South-East Asia.


Job Summary

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for building and managing a large customer portfolio with minimal risk exposure while maximizing profitability. This role involves promoting FairMoney’s financial products, ensuring proper loan disbursement, monitoring repayment, and maintaining strong client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

Pre-Loan Disbursement:

  • Promote and market FairMoney’s products to prospective clients through all available channels.

  • Conduct visits to evaluate potential clients’ businesses and residences when required.

  • Assess guarantors’ and co-debtors’ businesses and homes as necessary.

  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative financial data of businesses and households.

  • Prepare and present loan files to the Credit Committee.

  • Input loan applications into the MIS system.

  • Represent FairMoney professionally in all client and partner interactions.

Post-Loan Disbursement:

  • Conduct monitoring visits to clients’ businesses and households.

  • Follow up daily on loan repayments.

  • Manage loan recovery efforts for active and written-off clients until repayment is complete.

  • Evaluate loan impact prior to renewals.

  • Complete other assignments as required by the institution.


Requirements

  • HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Loan Sales / Portfolio Management.

  • Proven ability to motivate a team of Sales Managers to achieve performance goals.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and thrive in a target-driven environment.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Dynamic and motivated, with a willingness to work outdoors.
