Job Description

We are seeking a Team Manager – Merchant Lending to lead our large merchant acquisition efforts. This role will focus on onboarding and managing high-value merchants with a minimum monthly turnover of ₦6 million per terminal and ₦30 million per merchant.


Key Responsibilities

  • Industry Focus: Drive merchant-acquiring efforts in key sectors such as transportation, logistics, travel agencies, courier services, and ride-hailing platforms (e.g., Bolt, Uber).

  • Relationship Building: Build strong connections with decision-makers in targeted industries.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of Key Account Managers to achieve acquisition and retention goals.

  • Network Development: Leverage existing networks and develop new ones to expand merchant reach.

  • Industry Engagement: Represent FairMoney at industry events, staying current on trends and opportunities.

  • Partnerships: Collaborate with associations within targeted sectors to support merchant acquisition strategies.

  • Account Management: Oversee key merchant relationships, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Complaint Resolution: Address and resolve merchant concerns swiftly.

  • Product Knowledge: Develop deep expertise in FairMoney’s products and effectively communicate value propositions to merchants.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field.

  • 8–10 years’ experience in merchant business within Fintech or Commercial Banking, focused on large merchant management.

  • Proven record in key account management and sales team leadership.

  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Target-driven, flexible, and highly results-oriented.

  • Experience in customer service is an added advantage.
