Role Overview
Yiaga Africa is seeking an experienced and visionary Program Manager, Democracy & Governance to lead strategic initiatives focused on:

Legislative engagement

Electoral integrity
-
Digital democracy
-
Civic participation
This senior role places you on the frontlines of democratic development in Nigeria and across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide strategic leadership for Democracy & Governance programs.

Plan, implement, and evaluate projects in line with organizational goals and donor expectations.

Manage program budgets, workplans, and performance metrics.
-
Supervise and mentor a team of program officers for high-quality delivery.
-
Build and sustain partnerships with government, civil society, and development partners.
-
Represent Yiaga Africa at high-level meetings, forums, and media engagements.
-
Lead the production of research, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
-
Support resource mobilization through proposals and donor engagement.
-
Ensure compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements.

Innovate approaches to address emerging democratic trends and challenges.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
-
Advanced degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, or related field.
-
At least 10 years of democracy/governance experience, with 5+ years in a managerial role.

Proven experience managing multi-donor funded projects.
Skills & Knowledge
-
Strong understanding of elections, legislative processes, civic innovation, and digital democracy.

Demonstrated success in team leadership and partnership building.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools.

Deep knowledge of Nigeria’s political and governance context and global democracy trends.
-
Strong analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Language Requirements
-
Fluency in English.
-
Proficiency in French and/or a Nigerian language is an advantage.
