Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments to study drug effects on biological systems.
- Analyze pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion) and pharmacodynamics (mechanism of action).
- Collaborate with chemists, toxicologists, and clinicians to develop and test new drugs.
- Prepare detailed reports and publish findings in scientific journals.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Use laboratory equipment and software for data analysis and modeling.
- Monitor side effects, interactions, and therapeutic efficacy of compounds.
Areas of Specialization:
- Clinical Pharmacology: Focus on drug effects in humans.
- Neuropharmacology: Study drugs affecting the nervous system.
- Toxicology: Assess safety and adverse effects.
