Job Summary
- As the Quality Assurance Officer at Pullus Africa, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the consistent production of high-quality, safe poultry products.
- This role will oversee all quality control measures throughout the poultry production process, from converting the raw materials to final product packaging and distribution.
- The Quality Assurance officer will work closely with the purchase, extension, and logistics teams to uphold rigorous quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance programs, including quality control procedures, inspections, and audits
- Monitor production processes to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner
- Conduct regular testing and analysis of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished poultry products to verify compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality specifications
- Document quality control activities and maintain detailed records to demonstrate process control
- Carry out research and development exercises to evaluate new technologies, equipment, and processes that can enhance product quality and operational efficiency
- Train and supervisestaff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in poultry production
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within the poultry or food processing industry.
- Thorough understanding of HACCP, GMP, ISO and food safety standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the use of quality control software.
- Excellent documentation, auditing and reporting skills.
