The Opportunity

Join Orodata Science as a remote, full-time Data Science Intern. You will contribute directly to projects that affect millions of lives. This role offers hands-on experience in civic tech data.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

Data Management:

Collect, preprocess, and clean civic and project datasets.
Ensure data integrity for analysis and publications.
Tools: Python (Pandas, NumPy), Excel, Google Sheets, SQL.

Analysis & Visualization:

Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on national reports.
Identify patterns, trends, and key insights.
Create compelling data visualizations.
Present data-driven findings.
Tools: Power BI, Python (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).

Research & Reporting:

Assist with literature reviews.
Contribute to data-driven reports and policy insights.
Support policy recommendations and stakeholder engagement.
Tools: Google, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Tool Development (Optional but Valued):

Contribute to building or enhancing data tools.
Document development processes.
Tools: Python (Flask, Streamlit), SQL, Power Apps, GitHub.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Support team presentations and workshops.
Assist with external reporting.
Tools: Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides, Slack.

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated on data science and civic tech trends.
Propose innovative data solutions.
Effectively use AI for enhanced productivity (e.g., ChatGPT).
Resources: Coursera, Kaggle, DataCamp, YouTube, industry blogs.

Educational Background:

Pursuing a Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
We seek an individual with 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Strong analytical and statistical abilities.
Proficiency in data science and data analytics.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and collaboration abilities.
Basic programming knowledge (Python or R preferred).
Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with the tools listed under Key Responsibilities.
