Role Summary
- We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager – Online Business to lead the expansion of our online payment solutions.
- The ideal candidate will acquire and onboard strategic merchants, drive revenue growth, and build long-term relationships with high-value partners and aggregators across the digital commerce and fintech ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, acquire, and onboard high-potential merchants (e-commerce, fintech, online platforms) to drive payment gateway adoption.
- Lead the full business development cycle—prospecting, product presentation, commercial negotiation, and contract closure.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key merchants to drive transaction growth, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Conduct business reviews and gather structured feedback to influence product and technical improvements.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new vertical opportunities and growth channels.
- Collaborate with leadership, product, legal, compliance, and technology teams to ensure successful go-to-market execution and seamless integrations.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in Business Development or B2B Sales within Fintech, Payment Gateway, SaaS, or Banking.
- Proven record of closing high-value B2B deals and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical payment solutions clearly to business leaders.
- Experience selling or managing payment gateway/acquiring products is a strong plus.
- Existing network within the Nigerian or African digital commerce/fintech ecosystem is an added advantage.
