Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Lawyer with 2–4 years of post-call experience to join our legal team.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dispute resolution, excellent research and drafting skills, and the ability to manage cases with minimal supervision.
- This role requires strong advocacy, analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in court proceedings, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution forums.
- Prepare, review, and file court processes, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, written addresses, and other relevant documents.
- Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned opinions on complex legal issues.
- Attend hearings, trials, mediations, negotiations, and settlement discussions.
- Manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Liaise with clients, external counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments as needed.
- Contribute to strategy meetings and assist senior counsel with major cases.
- Provide regular updates and reports to clients and the firm’s management.
- Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with professional regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- LL.B. degree from a recognized university and called to the bar.
- 2–4 years of solid experience in active litigation practice.
- Strong advocacy and oral presentation skills.
- Excellent legal drafting, writing, and research capabilities.
- Sound knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and court processes.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with commercial litigation, employment disputes, debt recovery, or regulatory matters.
- Must reside on the mainland due to work proximity as the office is at Alausa ikeja.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
