Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Lawyer with 2–4 years of post-call experience to join our legal team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dispute resolution, excellent research and drafting skills, and the ability to manage cases with minimal supervision.
  • This role requires strong advocacy, analytical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution forums.
  • Prepare, review, and file court processes, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, written addresses, and other relevant documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned opinions on complex legal issues.
  • Attend hearings, trials, mediations, negotiations, and settlement discussions.
  • Manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely compliance with court rules and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, external counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments as needed.
  • Contribute to strategy meetings and assist senior counsel with major cases.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to clients and the firm’s management.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with professional regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • LL.B. degree from a recognized university and called to the bar.
  • 2–4 years of solid experience in active litigation practice.
  • Strong advocacy and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent legal drafting, writing, and research capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and court processes.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with commercial litigation, employment disputes, debt recovery, or regulatory matters.
  • Must reside on the mainland due to work proximity as the office is at Alausa ikeja.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
