FoodCo Nigeria Limited is hiring a Cost Accountant to manage and analyze business costs. The role focuses on improving cost efficiency, supporting pricing, and driving profitability through accurate financial reporting.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years’ stock/inventory accounting experience (retail preferred)
- Knowledge of stock valuation methods (FIFO, Weighted Avg, etc.)
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA certification required
- Proficient in Sage 300 & advanced Excel
Responsibilities:
- Track and reconcile inventory across outlets, ensuring accuracy in records and physical counts.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies with the warehouse, procurement, and finance teams.
- Properly account for inventory & COGS in line with GAAP/IFRS; post adjustments and journal entries.
- Monitor stock levels to avoid over/under stocking, control costs, and prepare periodic inventory reports.
- Collaborate with audit and operations teams to ensure accurate valuation, compliance, and timely reporting.
