Job Description

  • Reviews, analyses, and evaluates business systems and user needs.
  • Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and per-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  •  Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
  • The Business Systems Analyst will be directly involved in conducting analysis,
    documenting requirements, creating functional specifications, system configuration, testing, validation, and implementation of new and existing systems.
  • This role will provide expertise that is critical in assisting with the identification of
    opportunities for the effective use of DevOps technology and the implementation of
    supporting IT solutions.
  • As a guiding light for Agile (and subsequent DevOps) transformations, this role should understand and advocate for the principles of servant leadership.
  • Adapt at working with both executive and staff level members of an organization.
  • Written and verbal communication skills must be top-notch and well revered.
  • Must have the ability to assess client needs and recommend Agile practices that best suit
    them.
  • Can reference by-the-book concepts, but also possess the ability to implement best
    practices with the flexibility that real-world organizations demand.
  • Knowledge of Agile practices and principles.
  • Telecom Experience is a must.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead development teams in value stream mapping exercises, identify constraints and make recommendations to increase development velocity in the IT supported platforms
  • Keep emphasis on value driven outcomes and work with business teams to track/report on progress of those outcomes.
  • Participate in and lead stand-up ceremonies on various technology projects.
  • Facilitated period team and cross functional synchronization meetings.
  • Escalate and track impediments.
  • Act as a collaborative partner and coach, participate in real-time to provide advice or
    assistance to business teams as they tackle and overcome difficult business challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement through examples and practical experience.
  • Drive necessary validation efforts for non-medical software following internally defined procedures
  • Collaborates with internal customers to ensure user requirements are complete and concise, confirming that changes and enhancements meet specifications and user requirements
  • Interacts with the business to elicit, analyze, and document detailed business requirements, create test cases and ensure quality through testing
  • Performs business process analysis to define configuration requirements
  • Transforms business requirements into quality documentation including detailed design specifications to describe program development and ensure tractability to requirements in validated quality testing system.
  • Makes appropriate recommendations for continuing, modifying, or abandoning proposed projects based on the results of feasibility studies and/or cost/benefit analyses
  • Maps current processes to the desired state and identifies gaps such as program functions, output requirements, input requirements and sources, data conversion strategies, and system techniques and controls Role Responsibilities
  • Provides solid test designs, develops test cases and execution test cases where applicable
  • Develops business process flows for new system development or for process redesign
  • Keeps informed of trends and new developments in technology to advise leadership of means to accomplish business and information systems process improvements
  • Communicates effectively with management to enhance their understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systems
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expert understanding and demonstrated experience with Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban
    methodologies and DevOps practices (CI/CD, SRE, etc.)
    • Passionate about Agile. Follows latest trends, attends conferences/meetups, read blogs, listens
    to podcasts.
    • Able to work independently without immediate direction
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science or related discipline • Some prior experience with microservices , API design etc.(Google APIGEE)
    • 5+ years of business analysis experience
    • At least 3 years’ experience working with Agile and DevOps tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
