Job Description: Accountant
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, conducting audits, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Job Responsibilities: Accountant
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for improving financial performance and efficiency.
- Auditing: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns, tax filings, and compliance with tax regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank statements, and manage cash transactions to optimize liquidity and minimize risk.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. ICAN certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an accountant, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 monthly.
