Summary
- We are looking for a Director of Finance to join our pre-opening team at Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja.
About the role
- The Director of Finance will play a pivotal role in the pre-opening phase ensuring robust financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes are established.
- This leader will work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the hotel’s goals. Prepare detailed budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support decision-making.
- Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as brand standards.
- Operational Support: Collaborate with department heads to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance revenue generation strategies. Provide financial insights to improve operational performance.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Pre-Opening Financial Setup: Establish accounting systems and procedures for the hotel’s opening phase. Coordinate with external auditors and financial institutions as needed.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure the hotel operates efficiently. Implement effective cash management strategies.
Qualifications & Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance management within the hospitality industry.
- Pre-Opening experience is an advantage.
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Opera, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
