Job Summary

  • The Junior Finance Officer will support the finance team in managing accounting records, financial transactions, and reporting activities.
  • This role is ideal for fresh graduates with a degree in Accounting or Finance who have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and are currently undergoing or have completed their ICAN certification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Record and maintain financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
  • Assist in tax computations, filings, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in financial audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Support cost analysis and financial forecasting to enhance decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to internal controls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business goals.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must have completed the 1year compulsory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC with 0-1 year working experience.
  • ICAN certification in progress or completed.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for sustainability and interest in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
