Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) – Buoyed by a mission to redefine customer experience and be the provider of choice wherever energy is consumed, the Ikeja Electric (IE), Nigeria’s largest power distribution network, came into existence on November 1st, 2013 following the handover of the defunct Power Holding Company Of Nigeria (PHCN) to NEDC/ KEPCO Consortium under the privatization scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

 

Job Description:
  • As a Procurement Lead, you will oversee and coordinate the end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services in line with company policy and objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

You’ll contribute to:

  • Coordinating procurement activities to meet company needs and ensuring alignment with policies and SLAs.
  • Driving strategic sourcing and cost optimization initiatives to improve procurement efficiency.
  • Managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring qualitystandards.
  • Leading bid evaluations for CAPEX projects, from tender preparation to contract award.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
  • This role directly supports Ikeja Electric’s mission of delivering energy responsibly by ensuring efficient procurement processes & fostering strong vendor relationships that enhance overall organizational performance.

Requirements:

Education:

  • A relevant degree and/or MBA (or recognized equivalent).

Work Experience:

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Membership in a recognized chartered organization relevant to the role.
  • Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2) will be an added advantage.

  • This opportunity is a Middle level management role. The complexity of this role will work across all functions and departments of the business to ensure optimal procurement performance.
