Job Overview:
- We are looking for a talented and highly motivated UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic design team at Afripoint Group.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating complex requirements into intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing designs.
- As a UI/UX Designer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to ensure our products meet the highest standards of user-centered design.
Key Responsibilities:
User Research & Analysis:
- Conduct user research to understand target users’ needs, behaviors, and pain points.
- Perform competitor analysis to understand industry trends and inform design decisions.
- Use insights gathered from user testing, feedback, and research to iterate and improve designs.
Wireframing & Prototyping:
- Develop wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to visualize and test concepts.
- Create low and high-fidelity prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure the feasibility and functionality of prototypes.
UI Design:
- Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Develop design systems and UI components to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
- Work with the product team to create visually compelling designs that align with the brand’s identity and voice.
- Design responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces across different devices and screen sizes.
UX Design:
- Focus on optimizing user experience by analyzing user journeys and making adjustments for better usability.
- Conduct usability testing to validate design concepts, identify pain points, and iterate based on user feedback.
- Improve the usability of existing products, ensuring they meet user expectations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure design implementation aligns with UX principles.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver optimal design solutions.
- Participate in regular design reviews and feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement.
- Communicate design concepts, rationale, and user flows effectively to internal teams and clients.
- Document design processes, user research findings, and design guidelines for future reference.
Brand and Visual Design:
- Ensure all designs align with Afripoint Group’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all digital platforms.
- Contribute to the evolution of the company’s design language, focusing on aesthetics and usability.
Stay Updated with Design Trends:
- Continuously explore new design trends, tools, and best practices to keep the design process innovative and forward-thinking.
- Keep up with the latest UX/UI design trends, technologies, and methodologies to maintain industry standards.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (minimum 3 years).
- A strong portfolio showcasing past projects, demonstrating proficiency in UI/UX design and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with responsive design and mobile-first approaches.
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar.
- Experience working with development teams to implement designs into functional products.
- Knowledge of design principles such as typography, color theory, spacing, and hierarchy.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with user research methods (interviews, surveys, usability testing).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Bonus:
- Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience with motion design or animation tools such as After Effects is an added advantage.
