Job Description:
- We are recruiting a full-time Assistant ESG Officer to manage partner information across CBE’s growing project portfolio.
- In this role, you will help in evaluating information collected directly and via desktop research, and qualify approved vendors and partners.
- The Assistant ESG Officer will also lead in maintaining up-to-date and accessible documentation on CBE’s Environmental, Social & Governance Management System (ESGMS). A solid understanding of international ESG standards for ethical practices as well as business integrity risks is essential for this role.
- The Assistant ESG Officer will report to an ESG Manager and be supported by colleagues from CBE’s in-house Supply Chain, Development and Legal teams. Candidates with interest in data analytics may also help to analyze data collected on the environmental and social impacts of CBE renewable power plant installations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor project schedules against checkpoints at which supporting information about clients, suppliers, contractors should be collected
- Coordinate documentation requests from partners to ensure all requirements are met
- Review voluntarily disclosures against CBE’s ESG and business integrity assessment tools, such as World Check and Media Check. Review CBE’s alignment with evolving international standards, including anti-corruption laws such as the FCPA and the UK Bribery Act
- Prepare written assessments and risk management recommendations for review by CBE Legal and ESG teams
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of business partners to track changes in risk profile over time
- Organize documentation related to CBE’s ESGMS and track action plans to revise polices & procedures
- Answer questions from CBE’s clients and investors about CBE’s ESGMS
- Assist with internal and external trainings of business partners and staff on ESGMS procedures
- Monitor ongoing environmental and social compliance obligations on CBE projects, as well as information about our impact
- Preserve complete records of partner evaluations, ESGMS documentation, and ESG compliance for internal and external reporting
- Offer ideas on how to improve routine procedures to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
1-2 years’ work experience in business integrity, corporate governance or compliance monitoring. - 1-2 years’ work experience consulting on or implementing ESGMS frameworks for international organizations
- Solid understanding – through academic or work experience – of international ESG standards
- Interest in renewable energy
- Professional fluency in French
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- High ambitions for learning and professional growth
- Professional fluency in use of Microsoft Office suite tools, including Excel and Word.
