Role Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our team.
  • In this role, you will assess the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses, analyze financial data, reconcile loan portfolios and provide risk assessments to support sound lending decisions.
  • You will play a critical role in managing credit risk and supporting our growth with data-driven practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit data, financial statements, and other documents to assess the creditworthiness of existing or prospective clients.
  • Prepare and present credit reports and risk assessments to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review existing credit files and recommend credit limits or adjustments.
  • Conduct reconciliation on existing credit/loan portfolios.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and risk teams to ensure the Bank’s credit policies are adhered to.
  • Identify early warning signs of credit deterioration and proactively address risks.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to credit scoring models and risk assessment processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, ratio analysis, and interpreting financial statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of credit scoring systems, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Professional certifications such as MCIB, ICAN, or Credit Risk related certifications.
  • Experience in microfinance banking, fintech, and other financial services.
  • Knowledge of relevant local or international credit regulations and best practices.
