Job Summary

  • The Legal Officer shall be responsible for monitoring and/or advising on all legal matters, commercial contracts, and agreements.
  • The Legal Officer shall also ensure the company complies with the statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines as observed in the industry.

Job Description

  • Manage compliance and all civil and criminal matters by liaising with external counsel and relevant stakeholders across the South West, Nigeria.
  • Oversee the company’s data protection strategy, ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, and safeguard sensitive information. Facilitate Data Audit, Data Protection Impact Assessment, and conduct period review of Data protection policies and procedures.
  • Provide contract review and legal advisory to the management team, cross-functional units, and branches.
  • Draft contracts, agreements and review policies. Ensure that all contracts, operations, procedures and policies are in compliance with extant business culture, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Periodically make entries and update the extant laws and regulations which relates to the business of the organization and maintain a register of the company’s existing policies.
  • Manage all financing statements from the National Collateral Registry, and manage debt recovery processes.
  • Provide legal advice on securitization of movable assets, labour laws, privacy, and credit finance.
  • Provide company secretarial services to the management team, and manage specific filings.
  • Manage evidence gathering, liaise with law enforcement agents, investigate incidents, and support prosecution team.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (minimum of Second Class Upper).
  • Should possess a minimum of 4 years of post-call experience (Strong blend of litigation, & company secretarial experience is preferred).
  • Male for gender balance.

Salary
N250,000-N300,000 Monthly.
