Job Title: Night Duty Manager

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Summary 

  • The Night Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing all property operations during nighttime hours, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • This role also handles late check-ins/check-outs, emergency situations, and supports overnight financial reconciliations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Relations & Operations Oversight:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for guests during night hours, addressing queries, complaints, and special requests promptly.
  • Supervise all front office operations including check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments.
  • Monitor guest arrivals, departures, and special instructions (eg, VIPs, wake-up calls, early breakfasts).

Property & Staff Supervision:

  • Conduct regular rounds of the property to ensure security, cleanliness, and service standards are upheld.
  • Coordinate and support other night staff including security, housekeeping, kitchen, and maintenance teams.
  • Manage any operational or staffing issues that arise during the shift.

Safety & Emergency Response:

  • Serve as the first responder in the event of emergencies such as fire alarms, guest illness, or disturbances.
  • Enforce property safety, fire, and health procedures, ensuring guest and staff well-being.
  • Document incidents and escalate to senior management with appropriate follow-up.

Night Audit & Reporting:

  • Oversee or assist with the night audit process in collaboration with the Front Office/Night Auditor.
  • Verify daily revenue postings from POS, PMS, and manual entries for accuracy.
  • Prepare and distribute daily operational reports for senior management.

Cash Handling & Financial Duties:

  • Reconcile cash drawers, ensure safe deposits, and manage petty cash during the night shift.
  • Monitor billing accuracy, guest folios, and payment verifications.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an OND/HND/B.Sc Degree with 3 – 6 years work experience.
