Job Description
- The Accountant will manage all financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and support efficient business operations.
- This role combines hands-on bookkeeping, analysis, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records for all outlets.
- Prepare monthly management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Track daily sales, deposits, and reconciliations across POS, bank, and inventory systems.
- Monitor expenses and ensure all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Support the preparation of annual and monthly budgets.
- Track variances between actual performance and budget.
- Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality or operations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and petty cash claims.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor customer payments (corporate orders, catering, etc.) and follow up on receivables.
Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).
- Prepare and submit statutory filings accurately and on time.
- Support internal and external audits with complete documentation.
Cash & Inventory Reconciliation:
- Reconcile daily cash from all outlets and investigate discrepancies promptly.
- Work closely with the Operations and Store teams to validate inventory usage and wastage reports.
- Identify potential revenue leakages or irregularities in stock and sales systems.
Systems & Process Support:
- Maintain accounting systems and ensure data integrity (Excel, QuickBooks, or other tools).
- Support digitization of financial records and continuous improvement of financial processes.
- Train outlet managers on proper record-keeping and financial discipline.
