Job Title: Accountant
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Scope of the Role
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee financial transactions, reporting, and compliance within the organization.
- The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, support budgeting and auditing processes, and maintain strict adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
- Candidate should reside in Abuja or be open to relocating to Abuja with little or no assistance.
Specific Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure timely processing of payments, invoices, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory tax regulations including PAYE, VAT, and pension remittances.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions as required.
- Support other departments with financial data and insights for decision-making.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by the CFO or Management.
Technical Knowledge / Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ICAN or ACCA qualification (or currently in advanced stages) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or fintech setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines.
- Must reside in Abuja
