Job Title: Accountant

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full-time


Scope of the Role

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee financial transactions, reporting, and compliance within the organization.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, support budgeting and auditing processes, and maintain strict adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
  • Candidate should reside in Abuja or be open to relocating to Abuja with little or no assistance.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure timely processing of payments, invoices, and payroll.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory tax regulations including PAYE, VAT, and pension remittances.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions as required.
  • Support other departments with financial data and insights for decision-making.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by the CFO or Management.

Technical Knowledge / Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ICAN or ACCA qualification (or currently in advanced stages) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or fintech setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Must reside in Abuja
