Job Description
- We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at a leading dry food import and export Distribution Company.
- As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Job Responsibilities
- Keeping proper financial records of the company.
- Facilitating the recruitment and selection process to ensure workforce needs are met when required.
- Monitoring the inflow and outflow of cash.
- Giving financial advice that minimizes cost and increases profit regularly as at when due.
- Review, interpret policies, and provide HR advice to employees with regard to their, privileges, obligations and responsibilities and subsequently ensure effective delivery and compliance of HR policies and processes.
- Interviewing and proper designation of duties to new and existing employees.
- Planning and preparing job scheduling and sequencing in the company.
- Preparing the VAT statements on a monthly basis before the 20th of each month.
- Preparation of Tax payments for all staff in the company on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and timely submission.
- Preparation of payroll on a monthly and yearly basis.
- Salary disbursement to all staff as at when due.
- Writing memos and schedule of meetings as deemed fit.
- Ensuring effective environmental scanning with respect to SWOT analysis, as well as monitoring periodic stock-taking.
- Ensuring the prompt delivery of goods to clients
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and streamline processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in the distribution or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
