Job Purpose
- To assist the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities at the poultry abattoir, ensuring compliance with quality standards, production targets, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of production schedules to meet sales demand.
- Supervise all production processes and ensure workflow meets efficiency, safety, and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate closely with quality control, maintenance, and logistics teams.
- Ensure staff compliance with SOPs, safety regulations, and food hygiene standards.
- Monitor yields, reduce wastage, and track production KPIs.
- Train, guide, and evaluate production line teams to improve performance.
- Assist with troubleshooting production challenges and providing prompt solutions.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and ensure proper documentation of all production activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Sc./HND in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in poultry/chicken processing or food production.
- Strong understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP and FSSC 22000.
- Proven supervisory or mid-management experience in a food processing facility.
Skills & Competencies:
- Production planning and operational supervision.
- Strong leadership and team coordination.
- Problem-solving and process optimization.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance protocols.
