Job Description

  • To assist the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities at the poultry abattoir, ensuring compliance with quality standards, production targets, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of production schedules to meet sales demand.
  • Supervise all production processes and ensure workflow meets efficiency, safety, and quality benchmarks.
  • Coordinate closely with quality control, maintenance, and logistics teams.
  • Ensure staff compliance with SOPs, safety regulations, and food hygiene standards.
  • Monitor yields, reduce wastage, and track production KPIs.
  • Train, guide, and evaluate production line teams to improve performance.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production challenges and providing prompt solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and ensure proper documentation of all production activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc / HND in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in poultry/chicken processing or food production.
  • Strong understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP and FSSC 22000.
  • Proven supervisory or mid-management experience in a food processing facility.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Production planning and operational supervision.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination.
  • Problem-solving and process optimization.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance protocols.
