Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of the automobile unit, including drivers and mechanics.
- Plan and oversee the deployment and scheduling of factory vehicles.
- Ensure all assigned vehicles are operational, serviced, and ready for use.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for vehicles.
- Maintain up-to-date service and maintenance records.
- Liaise with mechanics and vendors for spare parts procurement and repair support.
- Manage driver schedules, performance, and adherence to transport policies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and traffic regulations.
- Allocate manpower and vehicle resources efficiently to meet operational needs.
- Maintain detailed records of servicing, repairs, and fuel consumption.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the HOD-Engineering.
- Track automobile expenditures and implement cost-saving measures.
- Enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards in all automobile operations.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with vehicle usage procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Must have 5-7 years of relevant experience in automobile maintenance, fleet management, or supervision (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and workshop operations.
- Ability to plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Proficiency in record keeping, cost tracking, and logistics coordination.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to manage teams effectively and work under pressure.
Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 / Month.
