Job Summary
We are seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives across loans, deposits, and strategic business opportunities.
The role requires strong business acumen, proven experience in microfinance operations, and the ability to build lasting client relationships while ensuring profitability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Generation & Review

Prospect, source, and onboard clients for micro, SME, and consumer loan products.

Conduct loan appraisals, credit analysis, and risk assessments to ensure quality disbursements.

Review loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with credit policies.

Monitor loan performance, drive timely repayments, and minimize default risks.

Maintain a balanced and profitable loan portfolio through effective monitoring and recovery efforts.
Deposit Mobilization
-
Develop and execute strategies to grow the bank’s deposit base.

Source for savings and fixed deposits from individuals, groups, and businesses.

Strengthen client relationships to build loyalty and ensure consistent funding inflows.

Cross-sell financial products to enhance customer retention and portfolio value.
Strategic Business Development

Identify market opportunities, trends, and customer needs within the financial sector.

Develop innovative products, business solutions, and strategies to increase market share.

Contribute to annual business planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.

Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis to guide management decisions.

Support marketing campaigns, brand visibility initiatives, and community engagement programs.
Client Relationship & Business Growth

Build and nurture strong business relationships with clients, organizations, and community groups.

Deliver excellent customer service and resolve client issues promptly.

Represent the bank at stakeholder events to strengthen its market positioning.

Conduct financial literacy and product sensitization programs for target groups.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics, or related field.

Professional certification in microfinance (e.g., CIBN Microfinance Certification) is an advantage.

5–7 years of proven experience in business development, loan marketing, or deposit mobilization within the financial services sector.

Strong knowledge of microfinance operations, credit management, and deposit mobilization strategies.

Demonstrated track record of exceeding loan and deposit targets.

Excellent negotiation, marketing, and client relationship management skills.

Strong analytical, financial review, and strategic planning abilities.

High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and core banking applications.
