Job Summary
- The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the oil and gas sector.
- The role focuses on expanding the company’s market presence, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, tenders, and contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Market Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within upstream, midstream, and downstream oil & gas operations.
- Conduct market research to track industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with oil & gas operators, EPCI contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients.
- Understand client needs and propose tailored service solutions.
Tendering & Proposal Management:
- Source, review, and coordinate response to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs), and RFQs.
- Coordinate proposal preparation, pricing, and technical inputs with internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with clients.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue goals.
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance reports.
Strategic Partnerships & Networking:
- Identify and develop strategic alliances and joint venture opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Strengthen the company’s brand and market reputation within the oil & gas industry.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–7 years’ experience in business development or sales within the oil & gas servicing industry.
- Strong understanding of oil & gas operations, procurement processes, and industry regulations.
- Proven track record of winning contracts and growing client portfolios.
- Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and market research abilities.
- Ability to develop compelling business proposals and commercial strategies.
- High proficiency in presenting technical solutions and market insights to C-suite stakeholders.
