- We are excited to be searching for a proactive and pragmatic Communications Officer with an interest in Value Chain sustainability to join our team in Nigeria, and we hope it’s you!
- Within this role, you will support the development and implementation of communication strategies that will help to enhance IDH’s visibility and engagement with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Implementation:
- Develop and implement communication plans aligned with the corporate communication strategy.
- Support local teams in achieving their communication objectives.
Content Creation and Dissemination:
- Draft engaging content such as press releases, articles, blog posts, social media posts, and multimedia materials.
- Ensure consistency in messaging, brand identity, and tone across all channels.
- Coordinate with content producers (editors, designers) to ensure quality outputs.
Event Management:
- Assist in planning and coordination communication-related events, engaging with key stakeholders.
- Draft communication-related content and tools for events such as press conferences, workshops, and webinars.
Requirements:
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, International Relations, or other related field.
- 0-3 years of relevant working experience in a communications role, preferably in a similar organization or sector.
- Strong interest in sustainability and international development.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to create content in multiple languages if required.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural and dynamic environment.
- Team player with a creative mindset and visual thinking abilities

- Your development-oriented mindset drives you to continually refine and adapt communication strategies to meet the evolving needs of the organisation at IDH.
- You are skilled at coordinating with local teams and service providers, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment across all communication initiatives. Thriving in a dynamic environment, such as IDH.
We Offer You:
A full-time role within an impacting, international organisation – and:
- A full-time (40 hours) 1 year contract initially, with the intention to extend (as this is a permanent position).
- Work-related expenses to be reimbursed by the IDH and to be part of our health (including family), group life and kidnapping insurance policies.
