Job Summary:

As the Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role involves overseeing KYC/CDD processes, monitoring transactions, conducting risk assessments, and supporting regulatory reporting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance and Requirements: Ensure the Company complies with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. Also, monitor changes in the regulatory environment and recommend updates to internal policies and procedures, whilst contributing to developing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Reporting and Record Keeping: Assist in preparing regulatory reports and liaise with relevant authorities, within the stipulated regulatory deadlines, Also, ensure that the Company keeps proper records.
  • Risk Assessment and Policy Implementation: Conduct risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks. Also planning, implementing, and overseeing risk-related programs.
  • Reporting Channels: Create and coordinate proper reporting channels for compliance issues.
  • Compliance Training: Coordinate and schedule periodic compliance training for employees. Also, encourage a “compliance culture” across all staff within the company.
  • KYC & CDD Compliance: Ensure all new and existing customers meet KYC and CDD requirements in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams to enhance compliance policies and procedures. Additionally, conduct robust gap analysis on new rules and regulations affecting the company and set practical timelines for closing identified gaps.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain cordial and professional relationships with relevant regulatory authorities and act as a primary interface between the company and the relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Other Responsibilities: All other duties as directed by the Senior Compliance Officer, Managing Director and other members of senior Management.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICAN, ACCA) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in compliance and risk management, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian regulatory frameworks, including CBN, SEC, NDIC, and AML/CTF guidelines and international best practices in risk management and compliance.
  • Experience with KYC/CDD systems, transaction monitoring tools, and case management platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in risk management and compliance software tools.
