Role Overview
- The Data Analyst will support operational and strategic decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting logistics and fleet data.
- The role focuses on transforming raw operational data into actionable insights that improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance service delivery, and support compliance across transport and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Management:
- Collect, clean, validate, and consolidate data from multiple logistics systems including fleet tracking, warehouse systems, ERP, HRIS, and finance platforms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date datasets on fleet utilization, delivery performance, fuel consumption, maintenance, driver productivity, and asset usage.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across reports and dashboards.
Operational Performance Analysis:
- Analyze key logistics KPIs including On-Time Delivery (OTD), vehicle turnaround time, route efficiency, fuel efficiency, downtime, and asset utilization.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and loss points across fleet and warehouse operations.
- Support root-cause analysis for incidents, delays, and performance deviations.
Reporting & Dashboards:
- Develop and maintain automated dashboards and reports for management using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for Operations, Fleet, HR, and Finance teams.
- Translate complex data into clear, concise insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Cost Optimization & Financial Analysis:
- Analyze cost drivers including fuel, maintenance, overtime, downtime, and asset losses.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through data-backed recommendations.
- Track cost savings initiatives and measure their impact over time.
Compliance & Risk Monitoring:
- Monitor compliance-related metrics such as driver documentation validity, safety incidents, maintenance schedules, and audit readiness.
- Provide data insights to support HSE, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements.
- Flag anomalies or risks that could impact operations or compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Operations, Fleet, HR, Finance, and IT teams to define data requirements and reporting standards.
- Support HR and fleet teams with analytics on performance management, training effectiveness, and workforce planning.
- Assist leadership with ad-hoc analysis and strategic planning initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Data Governance:
- Recommend process improvements for data capture, reporting, and analytics workflows.
- Develop standardized data definitions, KPIs, and reporting templates.
- Support the implementation and optimization of data governance practices.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- 2 – 5 years experience in data analysis, preferably within logistics, transport, supply chain, or operations-heavy environments.
- Strong understanding of logistics and fleet operations is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas).
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
- Knowledge of SQL for data querying (preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP, fleet management systems, or GPS/telematics platforms.
- Strong data visualization and reporting skills.

Working Conditions:

Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 / month
