Job Description:
  • Manage and optimize various databases, ensuring their efficient performance and integrity.
  • Also collaborate with the team to implement improvements, monitor database health and proactively address issues, execute backup and recovery strategies, implement security measures, and maintain user access control.

Key Responsibilities:

System Uptime and Reliability:

  • Ensure databases achieve 99.9% uptime or higher, supporting business continuity and minimizing service interruptions.
  • Proactively monitor and resolve database performance issues to avoid downtime.

Data Security and Compliance:

  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data, including encryption, user access control, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure databases adhere to compliance and security standards.

Performance Optimization and Tuning:

  • Continuously optimize database performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, enhancing indexing, and improving query efficiency.
  • Manage database capacity and plan for future scalability to support growing data loads and business requirements.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  • Develop, test, and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data and ensure quick restoration in the event of data loss or system failure.
  • Ensure disaster recovery solutions are in place, minimizing data loss and downtime.

Project and Change Management:

  • Lead database-related projects such as upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Implement version control for database schema changes and adhere to proper change management protocols.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and business units to ensure databases align with business objectives and needs.
  • Communicate database performance, issues, and upgrades to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

User Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide ongoing support for users and other technical teams by troubleshooting database issues and delivering effective solutions.
  • Document database processes and procedures to support internal teams and end-users.

Requirements:
  • Candidates should possess an HND/bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4-7 years of work experience.

Salary
N200,000-N250,000 monthly.
