Job Description
- As a lower primary mathematics tutor, your role involves fostering a supportive and effective learning environment to help young students develop a solid foundation in mathematics.
- Your responsibilities include planning lessons, teaching, assessing progress, and communicating with parents. Here are the detailed responsibilities: progress, and communicating with parents.
Responsibilities
- Understanding the curriculum and developing schedules, lesson plans, and teaching methods that will help students cover the required content.
- Preparing and delivering lessons that are stimulating and clear.
- Setting up tests, assignments, and grading students fairly.
- Ensuring appropriate resources and consultation times are available to students.
- Mentoring and providing support to student teachers.
- Attending staff and parent meetings, conferences, workshops, and other continuing education programs.
- Handling various administration functions, which include updating student records and keeping track of lab supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Ensuring a safe, healthy classroom environment where learning can take place.
Education / Experience
- B. Ed Maths / NCE and any relevant certifications.
- A minimum of five to seven years of relevant teaching experience
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts
- Problem Solving and Time Management Skills.
