Job Description

The Energy Sales Coordinator is responsible for driving revenue growth and ensuring 100% collection efficiency within the Undertaking. This role oversees billing, collections, customer acquisition, and retention while ensuring billing accuracy, maintaining customer data integrity, and monitoring key commercial performance indicators. The position also supports marketing strategy implementation, enforces accountability across the sales team, and aligns commercial operations with Ikeja Electric’s strategic objectives and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation and Cash Collection

  • Drive total revenue generation and ensure 100% cash collection of all billed energy within the Undertaking.

  • Supervise and coordinate cash collection activities, including follow-up with Maximum Demand (MD) and Prime customers.

  • Monitor and evaluate the collection performance of Energy Sales Supervisors (ESS) and Energy Sales Representatives (ESR).

Customer Acquisition and Retention

  • Drive new customer acquisition initiatives to expand the customer base.

  • Validate acquisition data submitted by ESRs and identify opportunities in emerging markets.

  • Implement retention strategies to reduce churn and enhance customer loyalty.

Billing and Account Management

  • Ensure accurate billing that reflects actual energy consumption per transformer or feeder.

  • Oversee customer account updates for billing, payments, and adjustments.

  • Resolve billing and revenue-related complaints effectively.

Customer Database and Metering

  • Manage and maintain reliable customer databases by aligning meter books with distribution transformers and overhead lines.

  • Coordinate Prepaid Meter Monitoring (PPM) to ensure accurate vending and usage tracking.

Reporting and Performance Tracking

  • Prepare and submit weekly commercial activity reports covering billing, collections, and customer growth.

  • Track and analyze the performance of ESS and ESRs to support strategy execution.

Commercial Strategy Implementation

  • Support execution of marketing strategies to achieve revenue and customer growth targets.

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities within the network to drive sustainable business growth.

Compliance and Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Business Manager, Commercial Manager, or Undertaking Manager.


Requirements

  • First Degree (B.Sc. or HND) in Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of field experience in sales and marketing.

  • Strong understanding of revenue collection challenges in the energy industry.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
