Role Overview

  • The Driver to the MD/CEO is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation services to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.
  • The role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, time management, and attention to vehicle safety and maintenance. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent driving skills, strong work ethics, and the ability to operate within an executive and confidential environment.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Transportation:

  • Safely drive the MD/CEO to and from official meetings, office locations, site visits, and corporate engagements.
  • Ensure punctuality and proper route planning to avoid delays.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Vehicle Management & Maintenance:

  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and in excellent working condition at all times.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, brakes, tires, lights, and cleanliness).
  • Promptly report mechanical issues and coordinate servicing and repairs as required.
  • Ensure vehicle documents (insurance, registration, roadworthiness, licenses) are valid and up to date.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company driving policies.
  • Drive defensively and responsibly, prioritizing the safety of the MD/CEO and other road users.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding travel routes, schedules, and discussions.
  • Avoid reckless driving, speeding, phone use while driving, and unauthorized passengers.

Confidentiality & Professional Conduct:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters relating to the MD/CEO and company affairs.
  • Exhibit discretion in conversations, movements, and interactions.
  • Demonstrate loyalty, trustworthiness, and integrity at all times.

Administrative & Support Duties:

  • Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Support minor administrative errands as assigned (document drop-offs, collections, etc.).
  • Be available for early morning, late evening, weekend, or emergency assignments as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification.
  • Valid Nigerian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional or executive driver.
  • Prior experience driving for senior executives or corporate leaders is a strong advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies;

  • Excellent knowledge of city and interstate routes.
  • Strong defensive and professional driving skills.
  • High level of discipline, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Good communication skills and respectful attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit and alert.
