Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Hostel Master to oversee the daily operations, welfare, and discipline of students in our boarding facilities.
- The successful candidate will act as a mentor and guardian, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes both academic success and personal development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise hostel operations including accommodation, meals, cleanliness, and security.
- Ensure student welfare and discipline, acting as a role model and mentor.
- Maintain hostel routines such as roll calls, study hours, and lights-out schedules.
- Provide pastoral care, offering guidance and support to students in personal or academic matters.
- Liaise with parents and guardians regarding student welfare and progress.
- Coordinate with school management to align hostel policies with institutional goals.
- Manage hostel staff (wardens, cleaners, cooks) and ensure smooth teamwork.
- Organize hostel activities and events to foster community spirit.
- Implement safety measures and respond to emergencies effectively.
- Maintain records of student attendance, discipline, and welfare issues.
Requiremnets
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in hostel/boarding school management or student welfare roles.
- Training in child safeguarding, counseling, or pastoral care is highly desirable.
- First Aid and safety certifications are an added advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership and supervisory skills to manage staff and students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills for managing routines and logistics.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Empathy and patience in dealing with young people.
- Ability to enforce discipline fairly and consistently.
- Basic administrative and computer skills for record-keeping.
