Job Description

  • The Finance Associate is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely recording and reporting of all financial transactions related to Shuttlers.
  • This role supports the Finance team in maintaining compliance with financial policies, enhancing internal controls, and contributing to efficient financial management within the organization.

Responsibilities

General:

  • Assist in the accurate preparation of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist with both internal and external financial audits.
  • Ensure all payments are properly authorized and align with approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate posting of all financial transactions in the accounting software.
  • Develop and maintain proper documentation and filing systems for all accounting records.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of all financial data and company information.

Accounts Payable & Other Liabilities:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of all payable accounts.
  • Ensure accurate provision for accrued expenses and other payables.
  • Liaise with vendors, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payment inquiries promptly.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure timely settlement of obligations.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and issue invoices for charter services and other business lines.
  • Perform weekly reconciliations of receivable accounts.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.

Tax Management & Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the Preparation and filling of all statutory tax returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.) promptly.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and liaise with tax authorities as needed.

Payment Processing & Cash Management:

  • Prepare and update payment schedules for vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor and reconcile daily cash and bank balances.
  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Manage expense tracker update, cash operations, reimbursements, and general cash controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role, focusing on day-to-day financial operations.
  • Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and financial transaction recording.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel/Google Sheets).
  • High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail for managing daily transactions, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of local tax regulations (VAT, WHT, PAYE) to assist with compliance and filing.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to liaise with vendors and maintain filing systems.

Salary
N300,000 / Month.
