About the Opportunity
- We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee all financial activities within our logistics operations across Nigeria.
- The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving financial performance, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring robust financial controls to support the company’s growth and nationwide haulage operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for multi-site logistics operations.
- Monitor cost structures including fuel, fleet maintenance, CNG assets, driver expenses, and route efficiency.
- Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with Nigerian tax laws, transport sector regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Develop and implement cost control measures across warehousing, transportation, and third-party logistics (3PL) engagements.
- Oversee treasury, working capital, and cash flow management to support daily fleet operations.
- Support strategic projects such as fleet financing, asset acquisition, and sustainable transport initiatives (e.g., CNG trucks).
- Liaise with banks, auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial service providers.
- Supervise finance and accounting teams across branches or depots nationwide.
- Use data-driven insights to guide leadership decisions and operational improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (MBA, ACCA, or ICAN certification preferred, in addition).
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the logistics, supply chain, or transport sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, transport-related financial structures, and industry-specific compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel modeling.
- Ability to manage financial operations in a high-volume, asset-heavy, multi-location environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing finance in a haulage or fleet-intensive business.
- Familiarity with logistics KPIs such as cost-per-kilometer, turnaround time, and load optimization.
