About the role

  • In this Finance Operations role, you will be pivotal in the efficient management of day-to-day financial transactions and processes.
  • Working alongside senior finance leaders, you’ll be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, optimizing workflows, and ensuring compliance with CBN regulations.
  • This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliation of NIBSS transfers, VISA card payments, wallet airtime, and bill payments.
  • Provide first-level support to troubleshoot failed transfers and bill payment issues.
  • Ensure timely refunds for customers impacted by failed transfers, bill payments, airtime, and disputes.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies between customer accounts and the core banking application (Mifos).
  • Conduct thorough reviews of our savings and loan products to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop dashboards and leverage tools like Retool or similar applications to automate manual processes, streamline workflows, and enhance transparency
  • Automate routine tasks such as daily loan repayment postings, bulk refunds of failed transfers and recurring payments, and monthly regulatory reporting.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including banks and payment processors, to ensure smooth operations.

 

Requirements

  • Experience in reconciling payment transactions on NIBSS platform, Paystack, Interswitch, and debit cards – Visa/MC, etc
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and workflows on Confluence to ensure clarity and consistency
  • Strong analytical skills, including background in investigating financial data anomalies and identifying root causes
  • Knowledge of payment systems, settlement processes, and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with core banking systems like Mifos is a plus
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Retool and a proven ability to implement technology-driven solutions is an advantage.
