About Africa Leadership Foundation (ALF)

Africa Leadership Foundation (ALF) is an independent international think tank, established in 1988 as a not-for-profit Civil Society Organization by H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, who also served as the Founding Chairperson.

ALF provides a public platform for leaders, policymakers, civil society groups, and stakeholders to dialogue, share expertise, and strengthen capacity towards developing better public policies that deliver pro-development results.


Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Admin and HR Unit to lead the Foundation’s administrative and human resources functions.
This individual will drive HR strategy, oversee talent management, foster a positive organizational culture, and ensure smooth administrative operations across the institution.


Key Responsibilities

Administration

  • Oversee office management, procurement, logistics, and asset management.

  • Maintain updated inventory records and ensure effective utilization of resources.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements, workshops, and organizational events.

  • Supervise service contracts, office leases, and vendor management.

  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of administrative records.

Human Resources

  • Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding, and exit processes.

  • Maintain accurate HR records while ensuring data protection and confidentiality.

  • Oversee staff performance management and appraisal processes.

  • Administer employee welfare, benefits, and leave management.

  • Support capacity development initiatives and training programs.

  • Ensure HR compliance with Nigerian labor laws and organizational policies.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Liaise with Legal and Finance units on compliance-related issues.

  • Prepare and present periodic reports on HR and Admin activities.

  • Ensure adherence to organizational procurement, HR, and administrative policies.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification is an advantage).

  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in HR and Administration roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/lead role.

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.

  • Proven leadership, organizational, and people management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software tools.
