Job Description
- Developing safety policies by drafting and implementing safety policies and procedures in alignment with local and international standards.
- Conducting risk assessments by identifying workplace hazards and assessing the risks associated with various tasks and processes and recommending control measures to mitigate risks.
- Ensuring compliance by monitoring adherence to safety regulations like OSHA, NEBOSH, or ISO standards and conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure workplace safety.
- Training and awareness by organizing safety training sessions for employees and management and promoting a culture of safety and environmental consciousness within the organization.
- Accident Investigation by investigating workplace incidents to determine the root cause and preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Emergency preparedness by developing and implementing emergency response plans and conducting drills to prepare employees for fire, chemical spills, or other emergencies.
- Environmental Management by ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and managing waste, pollution control, and other environmental aspects of the organization
Requirements:
- BSc in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of five(5) years of cognate experience from manufacturing companies
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Knowledge of hazard identification, control measures, and emergency response planning.
- Familiarity with safety training programs and promoting a strong safety culture in the workplace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and compliance documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for maintaining HSE records and reports.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Certification in HSE-related training (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is an added advantage.
