Education
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.
- Advanced Degrees such as an MBA or certifications like Certified Management Accountant (CMA) may be preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in cost control, budgeting, financial analysis, or related roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Experience with cost accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting is highly desirable.
Cost Management Skills:
- Demonstrated proficiency in cost management techniques, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and cost reduction strategies. Experience with implementing and monitoring cost control measures to optimize efficiency and profitability.
Financial Analysis:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to support decision-making. Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis is advantageous.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to pharmaceutical manufacturing, such as FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in financial software and tools such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling software. Experience with specialized pharmaceutical industry software is a plus.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as manufacturing, procurement, and finance.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Leadership experience and the ability to lead and motivate teams responsible for cost control initiatives. Experience in supervising or mentoring staff members is beneficial.
Problem-Solving Skills:
- Proven ability to identify problems, develop creative solutions, and implement effective controls to mitigate financial risks and achieve cost-saving objectives.
Attention to Detail and Accuracy:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
