Apple & Pears Limited was incorporated in the year 2012 as an Agro Allied & Food Industry to produce soya meal, concentrate and finished feed for the poultry industry, and refined edible oil, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad cream, vinegar,custard powder and Chocolate Drink for the Nigerian market. Job Summary
- We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to support and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards within our food manufacturing facility in Sagamu.
- The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote a strong safety culture, and help maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory and company standards.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification within the factory.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety trainings to staff.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, permits, and documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and support audits and inspections.
- Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
Qualifications
- HND/BSc in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field with 2–4 years relevant HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, ISO 45001/14001 awareness) are an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations applicable to manufacturing and food processing environments.
- Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
