Job Description

  • We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Human Resources Manager at Pulse Nigeria. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who will not only manage core HR functions but also drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, strengthen our employer brand and directly contribute to business growth.
  • The HR Manager will be reporting to the Director of HR & Administration and will be responsible for aligning human resource policies, programs and practices with our mission, vision and business objectives. This includes attracting, developing and retaining top talent, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant labour laws and best practices.
  • The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong ability to demonstrate how effective HR management delivers measurable business value such as improved productivity, reduced turnover, stronger team performance and enhanced employee satisfaction.
  • This is a leadership position for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution and who understands that people are at the heart of our success.

Responsibilities

Implementation of HR Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with the Director, HR & Admin to roll out key HR initiatives including policies, programs and processes that align with Pulse’s mission, vision, values and broader business objectives.

HR Advisory & Problem-Solving:

  • Gather relevant information, diagnose HR-related challenges, and provide effective solutions.
  • Offer objective advice, guidance and support to managers on HR issues.

Workforce Planning & Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead workforce planning efforts to ensure the right talent with the appropriate skills, experience and mindset is recruited for all positions.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing and reviewing applicants to administering selection tests, conducting interviews, performing reference checks, issuing signed offers, separation agreements, etc.
  • Ensure timely and professional follow-up at every stage to maintain an excellent candidate experience.

Employee Life Cycle Management:

  • Oversee seamless employee life cycle processes from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring compliance with Nigerian employment laws and international best practices.
  • ​Deliver excellent service at each stage to promote a positive employee experience.

Compensation & Benefits Management:

  • Monitor market trends in compensation and benefits in Nigeria to ensure offerings remain competitive, fair and motivating for employee retention and engagement

Performance Management:

  • Lead regular performance reviews and check-in sessions to align individual and team performance with company expectations.

Learning & Development:

  • Ensure employees actively utilise available learning and development resources.
  • Develop internal training programs or partner with external providers to deliver targeted training.
  • Provide coaching and general support to managers and employees.

Employee Records & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, payroll, and organisational charts.
  • Ensure expatriate documentation is current and compliant.

Culture, Engagement & Employer Branding:

  • Serve as an ambassador for the company, upholding and promoting its values and culture.
  • Monitor employee sentiment and engagement levels, fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Strengthen the employer brand internally and externally for Pulse and its sub-brands.

HR Metrics & Reporting:

  • Track and report key HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous process improvement.

Confidentiality & Ethical Conduct:

  • Safeguard all confidential employee and company information, ensuring it is disclosed only when authorised and necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field with 4years+ of HR experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
