About the Job:
- Starcare International Hospital is seeking highly skilled and compassionate ICU Nurses to join our critical care team.
- The ideal candidates will be experienced in delivering advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-intensity environment. As an ICU Nurse, you will play a key role in monitoring, treating, and supporting patients requiring intensive care, while working closely with doctors and specialists to provide top-tier patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and manage life-support equipment.
- Respond promptly to changes in a patient’s condition and intervene when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and infection-controlled ICU environment.
- Educate and support patients’ families with updates and emotional support.
- Adhere strictly to hospital protocols, nursing standards, and patient safety regulations.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in Nigeria.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on ICU or critical care nursing experience.
- In-depth knowledge of ICU equipment and procedures (ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, etc.).
- Strong clinical judgment and quick decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
- Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Desirable:
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN or equivalent).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a multi-specialty or tertiary care hospital.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
