Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, solution-oriented, and results-driven Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, as well as related infrastructure. This role will support technical innovation, ensure high performance and availability, and contribute to secure, scalable, and compliant infrastructure operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer NGX’s physical and virtual infrastructure, ensuring performance, capacity, and availability targets are consistently achieved.

  • Manage and monitor infrastructure components such as servers, firewalls, and storage systems.

  • Provide day-to-day operational support, including troubleshooting incidents and fulfilling service requests.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of scalable infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Configure, patch, and upgrade system software and firmware.

  • Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance or availability issues.

  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to enforce security policies and controls across all infrastructure layers.

  • Ensure systems comply with regulatory frameworks and internal audit requirements; support audits, penetration tests, and risk assessments.

  • Provide technical input and support during project initiation and planning phases, following NGX’s SDLC methodology.


Qualifications & Experience

  • HND / B.Sc. in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ cognate experience in a similar role, ideally within a regulated environment (preferably Financial Services).

  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities.

  • Proven expertise in:

    • Windows/Linux server administration

    • Network firewall infrastructure (Cisco, Checkpoint, or similar)

    • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)

    • Backup and recovery systems (Veeam, CommVault, etc.)

    • Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred; AWS or equivalent also accepted)

  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to operational excellence, and willingness to work flexible hours or weekends when necessary.
