Job Summary
- To ensure effective internal control systems are in place to safeguard company assets, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- The role involves conducting audits, risk assessments, and process reviews to strengthen the organization’s control environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits and control reviews across departments, branches, and business processes to assess compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, or risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on unresolved issues.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
- Conduct investigations of suspected fraudulent activities and provide reports to management.
- Review and test internal controls related to financial reporting, underwriting, claims, and policy administration.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ICAN/ACCA certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in internal control or audit
- Solid knowledge of insurance operations, regulatory requirements (e.g., NAICOM), and risk management principles.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent report writing and documentation abilities
- Attention to detail and sound judgment
- Good understanding of internal control frameworks and risk-based auditing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
